Medical Assistant II - $21 / hr | Austin, TX 78717 (OBGYN Clinic, Bilingual Spanish / English Preferred)

Location : Austin, TX 78717 (OBGYN Clinic)

Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Pay : $21 / hour

Must have at least 1-2 years of OBGYN experience and strong patient care, scheduling, and customer service skills.

Overview

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant with hands-on OBGYN clinic experience . The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting both providers and patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and interact with patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Respond to questions related to appointment status, wait times, and clinic processes .
  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding arrivals, delays, and updates.
  • Proactively resolve patient concerns and implement service recovery measures.
  • Identify prolonged wait times and escalate to clinic management.
  • Obtain translation services as needed for patients.
  • Participate in clinic meetings and staff training to improve patient flow and service delivery.
  • Perform clinical duties such as vital signs, rooming patients, phone calls, scheduling, and assisting with OBGYN procedures.
  • Notify licensed staff or supervisor when unable to complete assigned tasks.

Requirements

Experience : Minimum 2 years of related Medical Assistant experience, including 1-2 years in OBGYN required .

Education : High School Diploma or GED required.

Certification : One of the following is required - CCMA, CMA-AAM, EMT, Advanced EMT, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, Paramedic License, NCMA, NRCMA, or RMA.

Skills :

  • Knowledge of OBGYN patient care tasks, appointment scheduling, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic clinic / patient care equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and make quick decisions.
  • Preferred : Bilingual Spanish / English.
  • Primary Schedule

    Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM. Primary site in Austin, TX 78717 (OBGYN Clinic).
