Position Summary :
The Specialty Registered Nurse at Beacon Medical Group is a vital clinical team member who provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a specialty medical practice. Under general supervision and in collaboration with physicians, this role is responsible for clinical assessments, diagnostic testing, patient education, and coordination of care. The nurse will assist with procedures, administer medications and treatments, and ensure a smooth patient experience in line with Beacon’s mission to deliver outstanding care, inspire health, and connect with heart.
Key Responsibilities :
Clinical Care & Procedures
Perform nursing assessments, record medical histories, and administer treatments per physician orders.
Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians with specialty-specific procedures (e.g., minor surgery, stress testing, pacemaker interrogation).
Operate diagnostic equipment, start / monitor IVs, and respond to patient needs in real time.
Provide post-visit follow-up, interpret physician instructions, and educate patients on care plans and medication use.
Care Coordination & Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, test results, and care notes within the electronic medical record system.
Manage prescription refills, lab results, and referral processes in coordination with clinical and administrative staff.
Monitor patient flow and support workflow efficiency by assigning tasks to medical support staff as needed.
Patient Communication & Support
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and the care team.
Serve as a patient advocate and resource, ensuring comfort, clarity, and trust throughout the care journey.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Adhere to infection control practices, OSHA and safety guidelines, and Beacon's quality standards.
Participate in audits, equipment sterilization, inventory management, and maintenance of emergency medical supplies.
Complete required certifications, training, and continuing education in a timely manner.
Leadership & Professional Development
Support training and mentorship of students or new clinical staff.
Collaborate with practice leadership to ensure optimal staffing, workflow, and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Indiana RN license.
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience ; specialty experience preferred.
Current ACLS and CPR certification required.
Proficiency in peripheral IV access, conscious sedation, and emergency response protocols.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving care environment with advanced diagnostic technologies.

Working Conditions :
Full-time position in a clinical setting with exposure to biohazards.
Requires physical stamina and the ability to lift / push up to 50 lbs and assist patients as needed.
Flexibility to work additional shifts or overtime as required.
