We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Stockton, California. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing financial processes, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and preparing financial statements. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the accurate and efficient handling of accounting tasks while ensuring compliance with financial standards.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Perform timely bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank statements and company accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to facilitate smooth financial operations.
- Generate and analyze financial statements to provide insights into company performance.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist in accrual accounting procedures to align expenses and revenues with the correct accounting periods.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with a focus on attention to detail.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entries.
- Experience in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.
- Ability to produce accurate financial statements and reports.
- Familiarity with accrual accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
