Job Summary : Responsible for performing accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs of lease & rental trailers in accordance with established company processes and procedures while practicing the company values.This is a dedicated, on-site position working out of a service truck focused on supporting the reliability and readiness of the lease and rental fleet.

Essential Duties :

• Meets daily with the Lease / Rental Operations Supervisor and other operations personnel to discuss scheduling and demands for equipment
• Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and constant focus on daily efficiency and production
• Perform repairs and inspections on all lease / rental semi-trailer makes and models
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on trailers, along with DOT inspections
• Repair / Replace trailer components
• Open and close repair orders on company issued laptop
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in a timely fashion
• Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within standard repair times
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Expectations include the ability to diagnose, repair, and guide technicians in the following :

Electrical Systems

• Structural Repairs
• Chassis Repairs
• Hydraulic / Air Brake / ABS systems
• Lift Gate Systems
• Basic Reefer Repairs
• Federal DOT Inspections
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance
• Identify warrantable repairs and document using provided UKTS processes
• Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Excellent organization, customer service, communication and planning skills

Education and Experience :

• Education - High school diploma or GED; 5+ years of experience working on semi-trailers

Physical Environments :

• Noise levels are moderate to high at times; Physical exertion is moderate to heavy; Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds; Employee must be capable of continuously climbing up and down into a trailer.
