Job Summary

The Area Director of Food & Beverage will oversee the strategic and operational management of two outlets in the San Francisco area, including one new opening. This role entails full P&L accountability, driving marketing and promotional initiatives, and ensuring the success of multiple operations in accordance with the parent company’s standards. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leadership, financial acumen, and experience with new openings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Oversee and manage the overall performance of two outlets in the San Francisco market, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and standards.
  • Provide leadership in pre-opening planning, development, and execution for the new outlet.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize revenue and control costs.
  • Ensure consistency in guest experience across all locations, driving guest satisfaction and repeat business.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Take full P&L ownership for both outlets, monitoring and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize profitability, including cost control and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to drive informed business decisions.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with property management and corporate leadership.
  • Marketing and Promotions

  • Partner with the corporate marketing team to create and execute marketing campaigns for both outlets, focusing on local market penetration and brand awareness.
  • Develop and implement promotions, events, and activations to attract diverse audiences.
  • Ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with brand identity and goals.
  • Leverage social media and digital platforms to engage with customers and enhance visibility.
  • Operational Management

  • Must have knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations by implementing and upholding operational standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational audits to ensure consistency, cleanliness, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain operational workflows that enhance efficiency and employee productivity.
  • Completes all other tasks and duties assigned.
  • Team Development and Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and mentor teams at both locations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear goals for team members.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Build succession plans to ensure leadership pipeline development.
  • Opening Experience

  • Lead all aspects of pre-opening planning, including hiring, training, and setting up for the new outlet.
  • Collaborate with corporate teams to ensure seamless integration of the new outlet into the company portfolio.
  • Oversee timelines, budgets, and pre-opening events.
  • Compliance and Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes.
  • Uphold brand standards for food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges, including guest service issues, to maintain a high-quality experience.
  • Accountabilities

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports and operational updates to senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement strategies for ongoing guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize costs and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures across both outlets.
  • Qualification Standards Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior Food & Beverage management role, preferably with multi-unit responsibility.
  • Licenses or Certificates : Ability to obtain and maintain any government-required licenses, certificates, or permits.
  • Proven experience in new outlet openings, including pre-opening planning and execution.
  • Strong background in marketing, promotions, and event planning.
  • Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Advanced financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Expertise in creating and executing marketing strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant systems (e.g., POS, inventory management, financial reporting).
