LAMPETER CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN
Position Profile – Youth / Associate Pastor
Full-Time Position (40 hours per week)
Spiritual Qualifications
The Associate Pastor is continuing to grow and mature in Christ as a person of integrity who meets the Biblical qualifications found in, 1 Tim 3, Titus 1. Has a strong sense of calling and identity in Christ and is continuing to grow in depth and knowledge of the Gospel and being transformed by it. Demonstrates a willingness and faithfulness in discipling others, whether in the local church context or whomever is in their sphere of influence. Their ultimate desire is the glory of God, and sees their unique calling in equipping the body of Christ, the local church, for that purpose. Resonates deeply with our mission to see people know God, love others and serve the world, through everyday living and a philosophy of ministry that sees this mission expressing itself through the church.
Accountability
Reports to the Senior Pastor and Leadership Team, and provides a report to the congregation on an annual basis.
Youth Ministry Responsibilities
- Encourage the youth and volunteers to Know God, Love others and to Serve the world by following the example of Jesus Christ.
- Develop and coordinate youth activities with the youth leaders, including but not limited to :
Junior and Senior High activities
Service and outreach opportunitiesAn effective plan of communication that provides updates for youth activities through the bulletin, e-mail, Facebook, and the church website.FundraisersYouth Sunday worship serviceIntegrate and coordinate curriculum of all youth ministries including Sunday School and Youth Bible Studies, with the primary intent of seeing our youth become fully devoted followers and servants of Jesus Christ.Create and maintain a strong youth community by ensuring that relationships are developed with active, inactive, and prospective youth group members and their families.Ensure that proper care is provided for youth and / or their families in situations where teenagers may need help or support.Encourage, develop, and foster the understanding and use of spiritual giftedness in our youth.Equip the youth to become effective in evangelism and discipleship through training and ministry opportunities.Connect, when possible, to area middle and high schools for ministry opportunities.As appropriate, develop and maintain relationships with other local youth leaders and community ministries.Promote and participate in Brethren belief activities and practices such as love feast, baptism, and work camps.Approximately 20-25 hoursYoung Adult Ministry Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate Young Adult activities with the volunteers, including but not limited to :
Young Adult activitiesService and outreach opportunities in coordination with our Missions TeamFundraisersYoung Adult Sunday worship serviceIntegrate and coordinate curriculum of all Young Adult ministries including Sunday School and Bible Studies, with the primary intent of seeing our Young Adults become integrated fully into the life and worship of the local congregation.Create and maintain a strong Young Adult community by ensuring that relationships are developed with active, inactive, and prospective Young Adult members.Ensure that proper care is provided for Young Adults in coordination with our Deacon ministryEncourage, develop, and foster the understanding and use of spiritual giftedness in our Young Adults.Equip the Young Adults to become effective in evangelism and discipleship through training and ministry opportunities.Promote and participate in Brethren belief activities and practices such as love feast, baptism, and service opportunities.Approximately 5-10 hoursPreaching / Teaching
The primary responsibilities of the Associate Pastor in preaching / teaching is to provide clear consistent Gospel-centered preaching that engages the hearts and minds of Lampeter Church of the Brethren that is in line with our mission.
Preach 4 Sundays per year.Help plan and execute preaching series throughout the year.Provide and receive feedback in teaching.Help plan and teach when needed outside of Sunday worship times (Sunday school, retreats, etc…)Pastoral Responsibilities
Shepherd and lead members of Lampeter Church of the Brethren in walking with Jesus.Help Lead Pastor train leaders from Lampeter Church of the Brethren in their growth and development.Receive training and then implement pastoral care in cooperation with the Lead Pastor in caring for individual needs in our congregation.Assist Lead Pastor and other members of the congregation in reaching out in our community to support needs and live on mission.Approximately 5-10 hoursPerform all other duties as directed by the Senior Pastor
