Program Administrator - Ses

This is a highly responsible position requiring supervisory, administrative, and management expertise to guide the delivery of services for families and adults in adult direct services programs within a twelve-county area consisting of Bay, Calhoun, Jackson, Jefferson, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Leon, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla, and Washington in accordance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and regional procedures.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to :

  • Administrative supervision and coordination of all direct service operations related to the assigned service or program area.
  • Appropriate delegation of authority to supervisors and the review / approval of personnel actions and assignments made by them.
  • Management of the program and administrative functions of assigned departmental services units including the assessment of service utilization effectiveness, development and monitoring of corrective action plans, and directing intra-program coordination to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Assisting in case management decisions, when necessary, through coordination with program office staff, attendance at programmatic meetings, and individual case staffing.
  • Participation in management and operations meetings to present service area issues and input into administrative decisions regarding overall operational needs.
  • Efficient and equitable distribution and control of allocated service area staff, facilities, supplies, and equipment.
  • Community and service delivery coordination through identification of gaps in service provision and collaborating in the development of resources to meet identified needs.
  • Development of working agreements / relationships and effective service coordination among departmental program units, other human service agencies, and the general community regarding departmental programs.
  • Direct provision or arrangement for the provision of staff development, training, and programmatic or administrative technical assistance.
  • Participation in regional workshops and trainings available for providing an opportunity to increase professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include :

  • Knowledge of adult protective services.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Computer skills to include the use of MS Excel, Power Point, Word, and FSFN.
  • Ability to develop program manuals, policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
  • Ability to analyze the effectiveness of service program and identify resources or adjustments required to meet needs.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinates work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and trainings.
  • Ability to evaluate service delivery.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or professional experience working with the Department of Children and Families involving adult protective services, investigations, interviewing or counseling may be substituted year for year of college education.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • No disciplinary action within the past 24 months.
  • Must be willing to travel.
