Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Automotive Shop Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently assigning work to technicians, ensuring optimal workflow in the shop, and maintaining clear communication between service advisors, technicians, and customers. This role is critical to maximizing shop productivity, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and ensuring timely completion of vehicle repairs and services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work Distribution : Assign repair and maintenance tasks to technicians based on skill level, availability, and job priority.
- Workflow Management : Monitor and manage repair order flow throughout the day to ensure jobs are completed on time.
- Communication : Act as a liaison between service advisors and technicians to clarify job expectations, timelines, and customer concerns.
- Shop Efficiency : Track technician productivity and ensure jobs are progressing according to plan.
- Quality Control : Review work for accuracy, completion, and compliance with dealership or shop standards.
- Scheduling : Help manage appointment scheduling and adjust workloads as needed to accommodate emergencies or unexpected delays.
- Parts Coordination : Work with the parts department to ensure timely availability and delivery of parts for scheduled repairs.
- Documentation : Ensure all repair orders are properly documented, with time stamps and technician notes entered accurately.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a dispatcher or service advisor in an automotive repair facility or dealership.Knowledge : Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, technician skillsets, and workflow dynamics.Technology Skills : Proficiency with shop management software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Mitchell1, etc.).Organizational Skills : Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and clarity.Problem Solving : Strong analytical and decision-making skills to resolve scheduling and workflow conflicts.Customer Service : Ability to maintain professionalism and prioritize customer satisfaction, even under pressure.Preferred Qualifications :
ASE Certification or automotive technical background a plusExperience with dealership management systems (DMS)Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus, depending on customer baseBenefits :
