About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : RRT Pediatrics

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 1 year in NICU Level 4 / Trauma Level 1 facility

License : California RCP License required

Certifications : NBRC RRT, BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA) - Must be Advanced

Must-Have : Experience working across at least two of the three ICUs including a Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and / or the Cardiothoracic ICU. Must be willing to work both holidays, including Eves.

Description :

Traveler must have at least 1 year experience in a NICU Level 4 or Trauma Level 1 facility.

No scheduling requests are allowed.

The facility should be the traveler's number one position.

Traveler must not be working another job if they submit.

Weekend shifts are required, with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period.

They will try to schedule staff and travelers every other weekend off, if possible, but it is not guaranteed.

Providers should float within the scope to meet facility needs.

The patient population includes pediatric care from acute care on the floors, pulmonary floor, trauma, and medical units.

The facility treats patients with asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and provides high acuity care in the NICU.

Experience with trachs and vents, suctioning, and oxygen is essential.

Daily responsibilities will include working with mostly intubated patients and therapies including specialty gases.

Comfort with troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation is necessary.

They should be familiar with various advanced respiratory equipment.

Influenza vaccination is required.

Compliance with facility policies and procedures is mandatory.
