Job Title : Credentialing Specialist (Contract – Medical Leave Coverage)

Location : Indianapolis, IN 46268 -NW Side - (Hybrid : 2-3 days / week onsite)

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM–5 : 00 PM

Pay Rate : $20–$22 / hr (based on experience)

Start Date : ASAP

Contract Duration : Through December (covering medical leaves)

Onboarding : Background check required

About the Opportunity

A leading healthcare organization in Indianapolis is seeking a detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist for a contract assignment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong administrative or healthcare data entry backgrounds who are looking to gain experience in credentialing or continue building their expertise. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting provider credentialing processes during a critical coverage period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, complete, and submit credentialing applications for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records.
  • Gather and provide necessary information to ensure correct billing of services.
  • Track and submit provider information in a timely manner.
  • Manage both initial and re-credentialing applications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and collaborate with staff as needed.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Open to candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare administration or data entry is highly desirable.
  • Credentialing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Salesforce.
  • o Must be comfortable with Excel functions such as sorting, filtering, and copy-pasting.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Must maintain a clear criminal record.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Hybrid work model : 2-3 days per week onsite in a professional office setting.
  • Primarily sedentary role with occasional filing and light lifting.
