Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sales / Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, preparing accurate bids and proposals, and ensuring that project scopes are competitive, profitable, and aligned with customer expectations. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or tank-related estimating and sales, with a proven ability to win projects while maintaining profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bid and estimating process for new tank and construction projects, from RFP review to final proposal submission
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and timelines
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a primary point of contact during pre-construction and proposal phases
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, and Executives to develop competitive proposals and strategies
- Monitor market conditions, vendor pricing, and material / labor trends to ensure estimates are accurate and current
- Present proposals, bids, and estimates to internal stakeholders and external clients
- Negotiate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve favorable pricing and terms
- Track and report on pipeline, bid status, and hit / miss ratios for continuous improvement
- Support business development and marketing efforts, including trade shows, client visits, and networking events
Desired Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of estimating and / or sales experience in construction, tank manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectorsStrong technical knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project costingProficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and CRM toolsExcellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skillsProven ability to balance accuracy, speed, and competitiveness in estimatesTrack record of securing profitable projects and meeting sales targetsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentOccasional travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry eventsCompensation & Benefits
