job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in an acute care setting on a mixed adult Med / Surg Telemetry unit that shares space with pediatric patients Assigned only to adult MSTELE patients and may float to the MST unit to care for adult patients as needed Patient population includes post-surgical, medical, and telemetry adults; common cases include total joint replacements, small bowel resections, respiratory infections, and chest pain 10-bed unit with adult MST ratios up to 1 : 5 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement Must work both Peds and adult MSTELE units, though assignment is adults only Floating required to other adult care units as census demands Unit uses Cerner EMR and requires RNs to interpret telemetry strips Remote Monitor Techs assist with telemetry for adults; bedside monitoring for pediatrics May need to administer high flow oxygen and provide care for stable adults on BiPAP for chronic conditions Holiday rotation required May be asked to mentor nursing students during the assignment Training and orientation provided based on prior experience, including a hospital orientation Must wear navy scrubs as per dress code Standby or call requirements may occur during periods of low census on a rotating basis Charge RN oversees operations across multiple units including MST, PEDS, and MCU Nursing assistants cover up to 10 patients; RNs take over primary care if no NA is available First day testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is required Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of application A minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Must pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam within two attempts prior to contract signing Proven proficiency in telemetry patient care, including reading of strips Must provide 2 recent professional references, including one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Copy of driver's license required for consideration Must not have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) at any CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity facility in the past 12 months Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
