job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSchedule, contract, and coordinate musicians for weekly Sunday dances and special cultural events. Oversee the quality and consistency of interpretation in the historic village, working closely with artisan interpreters and curatorial staff. Support interpreters with research-backed content and training rooted in ethical storytelling and living history interpretive best practices. Responsible for booking, organizing, and greeting all tour groups; complete monthly motor coach tracking reports; and update tour database. Should be familiar with the tour, and capable of acting as a guide in emergency situations. Develop Louisiana state standards-aligned lesson plans, digital content, and activity kits for K–12 field trips, outreach, and virtual learning. Coordinate with the Director of Museum Operations to schedule and support school and group programs. Maintain educator communications and databases, acting as a pre- and post-visit resource. Organize professional development workshops and in-service opportunities for educators. Assist with summer camp activities and learning-centered festivals. Represent the museum's educational voice in grant initiatives, sensory-accessible programming, and folklife collaborations. Co-lead educational components of folklife grant projects with the Senior Director, contributing to narrative development and evaluation. Design and implement tools to assess educational program impact; use feedback to inform improvements. Coordinate with the Marketing Director to create timely, accurate promotions for educational offerings. Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Studies, Folklore, Public History, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in museum education, public programming, or related field. Familiarity with Louisiana cultures, folklife, and bilingual (French / Creole) interpretation a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. Experience with standards-based curriculum design and community engagement. Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive education practices. Experience in project management within an educational setting is essential. Experience writing grant proposals and securing funding for educational programs is a plus. Excellent writing skills are essential for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes. Overview

This role emphasizes inclusive interpretation, hands-on learning, and community collaboration rooted in museum best practices. The Manager will oversee public programs, school initiatives, folklife interpretation, and educational partnerships that center accuracy, accessibility, and visitor engagement.
