Unit Clerk Opportunity At St. Mary Medical Center
St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Unit Clerk to join our team! Schedule : Part Time, day shifts. The primary purpose of this position is to improve quality. To provide clerical support to the nursing staff through medical records maintenance, ordering supplies and equipment, transcription of physician orders and handling inter and intra departmental communications to assist with the coordination of patient care.
Responsibilities include :
- Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of patients and employees.
- Greeting visitors, patients, families and physicians and directing them professionally.
- Establishing and maintaining a positive working rapport with all physicians and nursing staff.
- Promoting and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly environment according to regulatory standards.
- Answering patients call lights and assisting them promptly.
- Respecting patients' rights by knocking on the door, calling patient by name and identifying self before entering the patient's room.
- Assuring all patients have a correct identifying wristband daily.
- Preparing charts for new admissions and transfers assuring all required forms are placed appropriately in the chart.
- Monitoring supply inventory, completing and directing requisitions for supplies, forms, equipment or services required.
- Establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with the Nurse Manager and communicating any problems, concerns or issues promptly to the Nurse Manager.
- Willingly accepts and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
