Construction Superintendent
We are seeking experienced Construction Superintendents to manage daily field operations for commercial construction projects. This full-time position offers excellent benefits and a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.
Responsibilities :
- Project Supervision : Direct and manage all field activities and personnel; cultivate and maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, and local authorities; expedite material deliveries; recruit, hire, and manage field staff; maintain an inventory of company equipment and tools; maintain as-built drawings; document project progress with weekly photos; and oversee punch list completion.
- Subcontractor Management : Plan, coordinate, and supervise all subcontractors; conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings; thoroughly understand each subcontract scope; and resolve field issues with subcontractors and building officials.
- Project Scheduling : Assist Project Managers with schedule development as needed; and continuously monitor and maintain short-interval and overall project schedules.
- Cost and Quality Control : Monitor field labor and material costs to maximize profitability; assist with change order preparation; ensure the quality of materials and workmanship; and complete timely daily reports, labor reports, and accident reports.
- Job Safety : Implement, monitor, and enforce a written job safety program for each project; conduct weekly safety meetings; report hazards to the Project Manager and implement corrective actions.
- Pre-Construction : Collaborate with the Project Manager on project buyout; contribute to project strategy development (general conditions, scheduling, etc.); participate in value engineering; analyze drawings and specifications with the Project Manager; and review subcontract scopes for completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications :
Five (5) years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or institutional construction projects valued at $10 million or more.Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry standards, equipment, methods, and contracts.Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate the intent of plans and specifications.OSHA safety training, CPR, and First Aid certification.
