American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg Neuro Unit, requiring a NC or compact RN license and BLS / ACLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work on a Neuro-focused Medical Surgical unit in a hospital settingPatient population includes general medicine with an emphasis on neuro casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18 : 45-07 : 15), with options for 36 or 48 hours per weekRequired to work 5-6 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend)Contract duration options are 13 to 26 weeksTravelers are required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as neededUses Pyxis for medication management and Epic for documentationManagers coordinate schedulingUnit orientation consists of 24 hoursNavy blue scrubs requiredResponsibilities include providing comprehensive medical-surgical care with a focus on neurological patientsParticipation in the Storm Team and / or Hurricane Team may be required during catastrophic eventsTravelers must be comfortable with floating and flexible assignments during contractTraining modules must be completed prior to start and annually thereafterHoliday coverage requires working at least 2 out of 3 major holidaysPrevious employees of Novant Health or New Hanover must have a 12-month gap before applying as a travelerTravelers may not simultaneously hold Per Diem and Travel Contract roles within the systemFatigue policy limits working to no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license required at time of startMinimum of 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredEKG testing must be passed prior to startEpic charting experience preferredTeamwork approach and strong focus on patient safety requiredWillingness to float as needed based on census and skill setMaximum of 7 days RTO approved, with no RTO allowed in the first weekPerm address within 50 miles is considered local (local pay)\n Benefits\n
