Position Purpose :
Practice as a family medicine physician at the Hospital, in the Hospital satellite medical offices and the Hospital site for the Hospitalist Service call coverage.
Essential Functions :
Examines patients for symptoms or physical information.
Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient.
Administers or prescribes treatments.
Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency.
Refers patients to primary care physicians or medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's well-being.
Documents the patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.

Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies / procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.
Job Requirements :
Doctoral degree (M. D., Doctor of Medicine and D.O., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) or equivalent
Physicians must be board-certified or board eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required.

Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude.
