Student Financial Wellness Specialist

Department : Student Affairs - Student Financial Wellness

Reports To : Director, Student Financial Wellness and Financial Aid

Location : Green Bay

Standard Hours : 37.5 hours, hours 8-4 with a rotation of working 8-5. Flexibility required to include other evening and / or weekend hours, as necessary.

Starting Pay Range : $25.81 - $27.82 per hour

Salaries / Wages for all finalists will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

Position Summary

Analyze, administer and process financial information in accordance with applicable regulations. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve and streamline student financial experiences. Collaborate with internal and external partners on student and sponsor financial accounts.

Essential Functions

  • Act as a trusted and proactive resource, ensuring timely and effective resolutions for student finance concerns across the district. Investigate and resolve complex problems and issues encountered by staff and students.
  • Maintain the student information system as it relates to financial data and records; process and review financial information in accordance with federal state regulations along with standard accounting and financial procedures.
  • Serve as the liaison between multiple federal, state and local agencies to analyze and process funding for students. Ensure funding provided by agencies is applied in a timely manner.
  • Initiate sponsor invoicing processes, ensuring all invoices are initiated promptly and comply with established due dates to maintain accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage and reconcile student and sponsor financial accounts.
  • Research, analyze and execute tuition and fee directives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate the establishment and administration of department-specific fees.
  • Provide guidance to students on navigating resources available for tuition assistance, creating payment plans, and developing tailored solutions to resolve college financial obligation. Educate students on financial policies, timelines and potential outcomes.
  • Interpret and communicate technical and financial regulatory updates; generate reports and review analytics to recommend process improvements.
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of policies and procedures; research new uses of technology and best practices; develop and implement process improvements.
  • Participate on project implementation teams, perform testing, and update system tables.
  • Train employees throughout the district on the processes and procedures related to the student information systems and financial regulatory compliance. Create and maintain training documentation.
  • Effectively communicate and clarify current policies through a variety of methods related to student financials to students, sponsors and the general public, ensuring understanding and accessibility.

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Associate's Degree
  • Three years related experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and data-based information systems
  • Experience with Financial Database Management System
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

  • Extended Sitting : Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings
  • Mobility : Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events
  • Manual Dexterity : Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, or controls.
  • Visual and Auditory : Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Light Lifting : Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
