Job Title : Quality Technician (QC Tech)

Openings : 2 (1st Shift)

Employment Type : Temp-to-Hire (Non-Exempt)

Pay : $18.00 $19.00 per hour

Reports To : Quality Assurance Supervisor

Department : Quality

Schedule (12-hour rotating, every other weekend) :

  • Week 1 : Mon ON, Tue OFF, Wed OFF, Thu ON, Fri ON, Sat OFF, Sun OFF
  • Week 2 : Mon OFF, Tue ON, Wed ON, Thu OFF, Fri OFF, Sat ON, Sun ON

Position Summary :

Perform in-process and finished product quality checks to ensure products meet specification. Use basic inspection tools, complete documentation accurately, follow GMP, and assist with routine lab tests and sample preparation.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform inspections at defined frequencies per work instructions and specifications

Use scales, thermometers, rulers, micrometers, and other basic tools to collect data

Record results clearly and completely; escalate nonconformances to QA Supervisor

Support GMP on the floor; verify lot codes, labels, and line clearance as required

Collect and prepare samples for sensory or analytical testing (e.g., water activity, pH, viscosity)

Maintain good housekeeping in QC areas and on the production floor

Communicate effectively with production, sanitation, and maintenance to resolve issues

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED

6+ months in a manufacturing or QC role preferred (food or CPG a plus)

Basic math and computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets)

Able to read and follow written procedures and complete quality forms

Detail oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements and Work Environment :

Frequent standing and walking between production lines and lab

Lift, carry, and move light to moderate weights as tasks require (up to 40 50 lbs with assistance)

Work in typical manufacturing conditions (heat / cold zones, noise, powders, cleaning chemicals)

Use required PPE at all times

Notes :

Rotating schedule provides every other weekend off

Cross-training across different QC checkpoints may be required
