Lifeguard

Our lifeguards have the opportunity to work year-round in an indoor facility with flexible hours including Morning, Evening, and Weekend shifts. In this position you will be responsible for creating a positive impression of the Jones Center and making guests feel welcome in our facility while ensuring the safety of pool patrons and responding to their needs in a friendly and helpful manner.

Part-time, AM shift availability

Responsibilities include :

• Enforce all Natatorium rules and regulations, supervising patrons to ensure appropriate behaviors and safety.
• Resolve problems or conflicts with patrons in a professional manner.
• Recognize and respond to first aid needs and / or other emergencies..
• Maintain cleanliness and general care of Natatorium and assist with maintaining equipment.
• Communicate repair / housekeeping / security issues to supervisor.
• Accurately complete records and reports
• Participate in on-going training opportunities and in-service trainings.

Part-Time positions available

Experience / Training :

Lifeguard Certification is a requirement to perform Lifeguard duties. The Jones Center will train and certify employees at no cost to the employee.

Job Skills : Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques and first aid CPR skills. Able to communicate positively and effectively with pool patrons. Must maintain fitness ability to perform all American Red Cross Lifeguard skills.
