Sr. SAP Business One (B1) & SQL Administrator

Employment

Full-time |

Start

ASAP

This is an operational, admin-first role to own and stabilize an on-prem / hosted SAP Business One environment and its reporting backbone. This is not a heavy development job; it's hands-on admin + SQL / reporting with a willingness to cross-train where needed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day SAP B1 admin : user provisioning, roles / permissions, MFA, basic configuration, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Validate and navigate core business flows (sales orders, deliveries, invoices, inventory, purchasing) to resolve data / process issues.
  • Coordinate with external SAP partners for major upgrades / customizations; perform basic change validation and unit testing.
  • Create and maintain admin documentation and runbooks.

SQL & Reporting

  • Author, modify, and optimize MS SQL Server queries, views, and stored procedures to support ERP operations and reporting.
  • Build and maintain Crystal Reports (or equivalent) for finance and operations; diagnose and improve report performance.
  • Perform routine database maintenance (backups, sanity checks) and collaborate with infrastructure partners on tuning.
  • Cross-Training & Operational Support

  • Validate ERP data for third-party integrations (eCommerce / CRM) when issues arise — you won't own those platforms.
  • Provide desktop / ops support in office / manufacturing settings as required; pitch in on small IT projects.
  • Occasional after-hours support during critical go-lives or manufacturing issues.
  • What this role does NOT own

  • Ownership of web storefronts or CRM platforms.
  • Primary responsibility for network engineering, firewall administration, or full-stack development.
  • Must-Have Qualifications

  • Hands-on SAP Business One administration experience (user / security, menu / navigation, troubleshooting).
  • Strong MS SQL Server skills (queries, stored procedures, views) applied to ERP reporting.
  • Experience building / maintaining Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools.
  • Comfortable demonstrating core SAP B1 processes in an interview (walk-throughs, data lookups).
  • Willingness to cross-train and handle non-SAP operational tasks.
  • Preferred (nice-to-have)

  • Manufacturing / distribution ERP exposure.
  • Experience in troubleshooting ERP. eCommerce / CRM integrations.
  • Basic scripting (PowerShell, Python) for admin automation.
  • Logistics & Interview Flow

  • Hybrid work : majority on-site presence required; occasional travel to satellite sites may be necessary.
  • Typical interview flow : HR screen? Hiring manager technical interview? finance / leadership interview. Practical, conversational assessments focused on live demonstrations and scenario troubleshooting.
