Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical Surgical Unit

Job Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Medical Surgical unit at Saint Luke's East Hospital. This position will allow you to work with primarily orthopedic patients, but this team does take overflow from general surgery, as well as medical patients. This is a passionate team with various experience, skills and backgrounds. This is a busy, fast-paced unit that will allow you to master your skills with a nationally recognized team who has received their Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. They are a leader in quality measures, celebrates their successes, and recognizes hard work.

Responsibilities :

• Utilizes the nursing process
• Performs patient care
• Delegates patient care tasks
• Consults with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.

To be successful in the position, you will need to be flexible, adaptable, open to feedback and eager to learn. Inpatient experience is a plus, but not required. Experience with Dialysis, Transplant or Neuro preferred, but not required. Strong communication with a desire to work with a care team to provide patient care is important. We are looking for a strong team player who is passionate about nursing and wants to develop relationships with their patients.
