About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Specialty : RRT-NICU

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years in NICU / PICU

License : NM License (can pend at time of submission)

Certifications : RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP

Must-Have :

• NICU experience
• Pediatric Critical Care experience
• High-frequency jet ventilator experience

Description :

This position requires a start date of 1 / 12.

The commitment is 36 or 48 hours per week, with a preference for 48 hours.

Submitting candidates must have NRP certification in hand upon submission.

If NRP certification is not available, scheduling may become difficult due to high volume.

Floating to adult units may be required as needed.

Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius.

COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions will be accepted with proper documentation.

The average daily census will be 6-10 vents.

Weekend shifts will be required as necessary, with a maximum of three consecutive weekends to meet unit needs.

Candidates must have experience with endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, and tracheostomy suctioning.

Skills required also include pulmonary toileting and ABG interpretation.

Previous trauma level I experience is required.

The facility type includes a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children’s Hospital with a total of 554 staffed beds.

Charting is done using Cerner.

No prior charge experience is required.

A commitment to patient care across all age groups from neonates to adults is essential.
