Salary Range : $63K - $86K
Sign on Bonus : $15,000 - two year commitment
The Registered Nurse – ICU is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients under the supervision of the ICU Director. This position ensures that nursing practices comply with all regulatory requirements and align with the standards set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing. The ICU RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to provide individualized, evidence-based patient care in a critical care environment.
Responsibilities
Complete physical and psychosocial assessments of assigned patients.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans using an interdisciplinary approach.
Accurately transcribe and implement physician orders.
Prepare and administer medications
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in patient care and department protocols.
Respond professionally to feedback and demonstrate accountability.
Participate in unit-based performance improvement and quality initiatives.
Support team development and assist in onboarding new staff.
Attend all mandatory in-services, complete competency requirements, and fulfill continuing education expectations.
Communicate safety or risk issues promptly to the Director or Nursing Supervisor.
Complete incident / variance reports accurately and timely.
Fulfill hospital standards of behavior and professionalism.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education :
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Completion of Dysrhythmia course within 6 months of hire or passing written competency within 90 days.
Experience :
Previous experience in Telemetry or Progressive Care preferred, but not required.
Licensure & Certifications :
Current RN license in the state of Iowa or a valid multistate license allowing practice in Iowa.
Current BCLS certification required.
Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates – Child and Dependent Adult Abuse.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support) preferred.
Progressive Care RN certification preferred but not mandatory.
