General Manager Of Operations Agriculture & Poultry Industry

Select Genetics is the nation's leading supplier of turkey poults, known for innovation, integrity, and excellence in animal production. We're seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager of Operations to oversee all aspects of our Missouri division. This is a high-impact leadership role perfect for someone who thrives on strategic thinking, servant leadership, and operational excellence.

What you'll do :

  • Lead and coach cross-functional teams to drive performance, culture, and accountability.
  • Oversee daily operations, production, safety, biosecurity, and compliance.
  • Analyze operational data and key metrics to identify opportunities, optimize processes, and inform strategic business decisions.
  • Manage division growth, capital projects, and facility improvements.
  • Partner with Sales, HR, and the Executive team to align on long-term strategies.
  • Promote and uphold strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

What we're looking for :

  • 810 years of leadership experience in agriculture, livestock, or production operations.
  • Proven track record in people leadership, operational improvement, and safety management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to drive business results.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with MS Office required.
  • No contact with backyard poultry or swine due to strict biosecurity.
  • Preferred :

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or Animal Science.
  • Spanish language skills a plus.
  • Experience managing construction or expansion projects.
  • Physical requirements & work environment :

  • Mix of office and field work; exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally.
  • Strict adherence to biosecurity protocols, including shower-in / shower-out procedures.
