POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Job Title : Co-Response Team (CRT) Supervisor

Salary Grade : 24

Salary Range : $87,405 - $105,485 annually

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Division of Mental Hygiene seeks two (2) full-time Co-Response Team Supervisors for the Bureau of Health Promotion of Justice Impacted Populations (HPJIP) with primary responsibilities overseeing the Co-Response Teams (CRT).

The Co Response Team (CRT) Model is a collaboration between the New York Police Department (NYPD) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), with a mission of serving individuals presenting with behavioral health challenges (mental health and substance misuse) as well as an elevated risk of harm to themselves or others. Teams consist of two uniformed NYPD officers and one behavioral health professional who engage individuals together in the community. CRT is deployed pre and post crisis to provide clinical assessments to determine service connection needs. Co Response Team Supervisors will report directly to the Co-Response Program Director and will be primarily responsible for day-to-day management and support of Co-Response teams.

CRT will be operational 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Supervisors will be assigned to the (1PM - 9PM) tour; (Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday).

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide clinical oversight, field-based supervision and ongoing coaching to Co-Response coordinators.
  • Deploy and maintain a caseload, engaging in field work at least 3 times per week. Provide field coverage and field supervision.
  • Provide crisis counseling, de-escalation & clinical assessments / interventions as needed.
  • Gather information in real time from referral source to determine appropriate response. Provide real time telephonic and field support as needed to teams.
  • Troubleshoot challenges, issues or concerns that may arise. Escalate to management as necessary.
  • Participate in the development, coordination of and facilitation of trainings for CRT Coordinators, onboarding of new staff, and partner meetings and community events.
  • Training and oversight of CRT Intake.
  • Assist with quality assurance and quality improvement efforts, including reviewing progress notes and initial assessments
  • Collaborate / consult with on-site NYPD management and staff to support team operations.
  • Ensure staff record keeping is timely, concise and accurate. Quality assurance.
  • Work with HPJIP Epi team to track and monitor client engagement outcomes and maintain detailed, accurate and timely reports on productivity and quality for case review and staff supervision.
  • Work to build relationships with other City agencies, community providers and relevant collateral contacts to coordinate appropriate responses. Coordinate with collateral players, as needed.
  • Participate in all program-related and supervisory meetings.
  • Provide operational coverage as needed, including working other shifts, and providing vacation coverage. Flexibility with staying later or coming in earlier for shift, due to coverage.
  • Other tasks as needed and as assigned by leadership.

NOTE :

  • All staff traveling in NYPD patrol vehicles (non-DOHMH) are required to wear bullet resistant vests.
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • LMSW or LCSW (NYC).
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work.
  • 3-5 years experience with social work and supervisory (direct service, supervision experience, post MSW.)
  • 3 years experience with vulnerable populations, particularly people with mental health, health, the homeless, substance abuse issues, and families.
  • 3 years experience with assessments, fieldwork, and team management.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred) - (Highly preferred skill : language proficiency)
  • Strong understanding of intersection of NYC's criminal justice and behavioral health systems.
  • Strong crisis response and trauma-informed care skills.
  • Show leadership, collaboration, and proficient in computers, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able to adapt and team focused
  • Able to have flexibility to provide operational coverage as needed, including working other shifts.
