Position Overview

As the Host / Hostess , you are the first and last impression of Kama Bistro. You set the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests warmly, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating and flow of service. This role is ideal for someone who is personable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests with professionalism and warmth

Manage reservations and walk-ins using the restaurant’s seating system

Coordinate table assignments to ensure efficient service flow

Communicate guest needs (special occasions, allergies, preferences) to the service team

Answer phone calls, provide information about the restaurant, and assist with takeout orders when needed

Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area

Assist in managing waitlists during peak hours and provide accurate wait-time estimates

Thank guests sincerely as they leave and invite them to return

Qualifications

Previous host or customer service experience

• Experience on working with OpenTable

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure

Professional appearance and demeanor

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support servers and bussers when necessary
