We are now seeking a strategic leader who is passionate about fostering a safety-first culture and managing risk to join us as our new Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE :

As our HSEQ Manager you will be at the forefront of developing and leading initiatives to reduce risk and create a culture that prioritise's safety.

You will work closely with leadership and employees across the business to manage risk, promote safety, and enhance overall well-being. Your role will be essential in driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Strategy and Management System.

Reporting to the GM of People, Safety & Culture, you will have the opportunity to influence the organisation's approach to risk management and foster an environment where safety is a core value for every employee.

Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Develop and implement the HSEQ strategy to align with risk management goals and safety objectives.
  • Lead the transformation towards a proactive, safety-first culture by embedding safety practices at every level of the business.
  • Design and execute risk-reducing safety programs and initiatives that foster both safety compliance and cultural change.
  • Identify risk management training needs, facilitating educational programs to enhance employee awareness and safety leadership.
  • Mentor and coach managers to strengthen their understanding of safety practices, risk management, and leadership in safety.
  • Partner with all levels of the business to ensure safety is integrated into daily operations and all activities.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics, identify risk trends, and propose actions for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively mitigate hazards and manage risks to safeguard the health and well-being of our people.

ABOUT YOU

You are a safety leader with a strong commitment to managing risk and fostering a culture that prioritises safety. Your deep understanding of health and safety regulations, combined with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, makes you an ideal candidate for this leadership role.

You thrive in both boardrooms and hands-on environments, collaborating with teams to drive change, innovate safety practices, and meet business objectives. Your ability to influence others and resolve challenges will be crucial as you lead the organisation to achieve its safety goals.

We are looking for someone who :

  • Has tertiary qualifications in OHS or a related discipline.
  • Brings extensive experience in HSEQ leadership within industrial or blue-collar environments.
  • Has proven expertise in embedding effective risk management systems and safety practices across a business.
  • Can influence senior leaders and negotiate solutions for complex safety issues.
  • Has the ability to think critically and identify risks before they become incidents.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Is open to travel across Victoria and Tasmania as required.
