Illinois Nursing Job Details Job Title : Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Position Type : Travel RN / Locum Tenens Specialty : Medical / Surgical Nursing Location : Urbana, Illinois 61801 Healthcare Setting : Trauma 1, Observation Unit Start Date : October 20, 2025 End Date : January 17, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Nursing Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Estimated Weekly Salary : $2040 - $2100 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum three (3) years of recent medical / surgical nursing experience Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Active Illinois RN license in good standing BLS certification (American Heart Association) EPIC EMR experience Trauma 1 healthcare experience Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a medical / surgical unit within a Trauma 1 hospital Implement evidence-based procedures and nursing theories Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Continuously evaluate and modify care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes Prioritize patient safety and promptly report or correct hazards Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Delegate patient care tasks to healthcare technicians (HCTs) and validate completion Administer medications in accordance with the 5 Rights of medication administration Maintain compliance with safety protocols including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation, and ambulation safety Respond promptly to patient call lights and address patient requests Utilize critical thinking and nursing judgment to assess and monitor patient status Facilitate efficient admission and discharge processes for Observation status patients Apply now to join our healthcare team in Urbana, Illinois and take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding travel RN opportunity!
