Position Overview

The Director of Business Development plays a pivotal role in expanding and maintaining strong relationships with professional referral sources, ensuring the growth and success of our services, particularly med management, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO® treatments. This individual leads and supports the professional outreach team, collaborates across departments, and represents the organization as a thought leader in the field.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Management

Manage and oversee all professional outreach representatives, ensuring they meet key performance indicators (KPIs).

Provide ongoing support and coaching to the outreach team, including field support as needed.

Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development for outreach reps to enhance their skills in relationship-building, sales, and strategic engagement.

Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations for outreach reps, ensuring accountability and goal alignment.

Attend and contribute to Monday census meetings, reporting on and giving insight into direct provider referrals and key contacts / accounts.

Participate in monthly leadership meetings to align outreach strategies with organizational goals.

Ensure timely and accurate weekly and monthly reporting on outreach activities, KPIs, and market insights.

Oversee the business development boards within Monday.com to ensure they are used consistently and effectively by the team for tracking outreach efforts, managing relationships, and optimizing referral development.

Referral Development & Relationship Management

Increase provider referrals by identifying new opportunities, strengthening relationships, and driving engagement with key referral sources, while overseeing and expanding external referral development to ensure strong connections with psychiatric providers and other mental health professionals.

Maintain and enhance communication with referral sources to ensure continuity of care and a seamless referral process.

Lead service recovery efforts with referral sources when needed, addressing concerns and strengthening partnerships.

Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with Admissions, Clinical, and other departments and team members to align outreach efforts with patient care needs.

Ensure the professional outreach team effectively communicates updates and feedback from referral sources to internal teams.

Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement

Represent the organization as a thought leader by presenting at conferences, events, on webinars, and more, with a focus on TMS and our other advanced treatments.

Support and guide the outreach team at conferences and networking events to maximize professional engagement and business development opportunities.

Business Analytics

Track and analyze census and referral data to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and optimize strategies.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

Work closely with the marketing team to align messaging.

Ensure brand consistency and visibility at conferences, events, and professional networking opportunities.

Travel Requirements

Travel to New Jersey and Colorado at a minimum of 2x / year each to support business development efforts, provide in-the-field guidance and support for the respective outreach representative, attend key events and meetings, and strengthen partnerships.

Use visits as an opportunity to spend time in the clinics and engage with staff for relationship building purposes.

Additional travel as needed for market expansion opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Proven experience in business development, outreach, and provider relations in the healthcare or mental health field.

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor and drive a team toward success.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Ability to analyze data and trends to optimize outreach strategies.

Experience in public speaking and presenting at industry events.

Knowledge of TMS and other mental health treatment modalities is a plus.
