Qualifications

Education Level :

  • Master's Degree in a Related Field
  • Licensure / Certification Requirements :

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Completion of required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients
  • Responsibilities

    Essential Functions :

  • Collect and integrate case history information from patients, families, caregivers, and other professionals.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures tailored to patient needs.
  • Conduct assessments for speech and language pathology, utilizing suitable materials and instrumentation.
  • Develop and implement a personalized plan of care with measurable goals in collaboration with patients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Interpret and synthesize information to create effective treatment plans and recommendations.
  • Department Specific Job Functions :

  • Evaluate patients with speech and feeding-related impairments.
  • Administer standardized testing to assess functional levels against age-related norms.
  • Assess feeding and swallowing impairments.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
  • Coordinate with pediatric PT / OT on treatment interventions.
  • Complete daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR.
  • Fulfill annual requirements for senior status, including supervision of students and completion of an approved project.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The compensation range for this position is $35.14 - $60.44 per hour . This range reflects a good faith minimum and maximum for the role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including experience, qualifications, and location.
