About the Role :
A highly regarded law firm in Century City is seeking a skilled and proactive Litigation Legal Assistant to support three busy attorneys. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity ideal for a candidate with strong litigation experience and a passion for legal support work in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Litigation Support : Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including drafting, formatting, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Calendaring : Manage complex attorney calendars, including court dates, depositions, hearings, and deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Legal Desk Management : Maintain organized case files, manage document flow, and draft routine correspondence.
- Attorney Support : Provide comprehensive administrative support including trial prep, deposition coordination, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, and client communication.
- Document Preparation : Proofread and finalize legal documents, ensuring compliance with court rules and firm standards. Must be proficient in creating tables of contents and tables of authorities.
- Client Interaction : Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, maintaining confidentiality and excellent communication.
- Case Management : Track case progress, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings and responses.
- Technology Proficiency : Utilize legal software (e.g., case management systems, e-filing platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite to streamline workflows.
- E-Filing : Handle electronic filing with state and federal courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court-specific requirements.
Qualifications :
3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm settingStrong knowledge of California court rules and proceduresProficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document formattingExperience with e-filing in both state and federal courtsExcellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesWhy You’ll Love This Role :
