Radiology Technologists perform a variety of imaging procedures, including X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, and Surgery and are responsible for patient safety protocols. Our Radiology Techs function as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
Responsibilities
Promotes a professional image by adhering to the established dress code.Maximizes job potential by attending all mandatory education and in-service programs.Contributes to the time management of the department by being punctual to work and on assignments according to the hospital and department standards.Responsible for complying with all hospital confidentiality and HIPAA requirements relating to department and hospital medical records and patient condition.Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of Medical Imaging patient medical records, includes Radiology, Vascular and Echo Lab.Responsible for the filing and distribution of Radiology reports according to department protocol in the absence of office personnel.Responsible for performing office related duties in the absence of office staff.Technical Operations Responsibilities and Standards :
Identify each patient and review each patients requisition, either hard copy or in computer systems, for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition at all times. (Physicians name, technologists name, date, explanation for limited examination, etc.)Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of restraint / support devices.Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents the completed examination to the appropriate technical staff member, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.Use the computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care according to established department protocol.Perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination documentation and charges.Organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physicians orders.Participate in the training and orientation of new employees.Ensure patient safety, comfort, and care through proper observation of established safety rules and regulations.Graduation from an accredited / approved school of radiologyCertification by the American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsValid Illinois Radiology licenseCPR / AED and CT certifications are welcomed but not requiredPhysical Demands
