Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Receiving and Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management and receiving operations. This role ensures accurate tracking, categorization, and reconciliation of inventory, while also managing the receipt of goods and coordination of donation pickups. The Senior Manager will lead a team, optimize processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control
- Oversee daily cycle counts and monthly inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review inventory discrepancies to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with Operations team to develop inventory best practices. Ensure staff adheres to best practices.
- Maintain and adjust inventory records to reflect real-time stock levels.
- Create and manage detailed inventory reports and documentation.
- Assign inventory numbers to new items and ensure proper categorization, including health, nutrition, and cultural relevance.
- Resolve discrepancies with agencies and vendors while maintaining positive relationships.
- Review and reconcile invoices and purchase orders for accuracy.
Receiving Operations
Supervise the receiving process, including data entry of received goods and printing of pallet tags and donor receipts.Verify deliveries, ensuring correct PO and USDA numbers are assigned.Schedule and coordinate donation pickups and deliveries in collaboration with the Transportation team.Ensure proper documentation and mailing of donation receipts to donors.Leadership & Team Management
Lead, train, and develop staff including Receiving and Inventory Control personnel.Assist in recruiting, hiring, and performance management of team members.Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.Administrative & Compliance
Print invoices for agencies and delivery drivers.Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management , Business Administration, or related field preferred.5+ years of experience in inventory control, receiving, or warehouse operations.2+ years of supervisory or management experience.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.Working Conditions
