UF Health Department of Medicine , an NCI-Designated Cancer Center and nationally recognized academic institution, is seeking Board Certified / Board Eligible Hematologists to join our growing Division of Hematology & Oncology. We are currently recruiting for three faculty roles :
Clinical Benign Hematologist – Combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
Hematology Hospitalist – Inpatient only (flexible scheduling available)
Traditional Faculty Hematologist – Primarily clinical with academic involvement
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, academic tertiary care environment serving patients with a wide range of hematologic conditions while teaching and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.
Position Highlights
- Practice Setting : Academic, primarily clinical faculty role
- Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (8 clinic half-days + 30 inpatient days per year)
- Patient Volume : ~14–16 patients per day in clinic; 10–15 inpatient consults per day
- Weekday / Weekend Call : 6 weekends per year and 6 weeks per year; Fellows handle first call
- Team : 29 faculty physicians (6 hematology only) and 13 APPs (4 heme only)
- EMR : Epic (inpatient and outpatient)
- Procedures : Bone marrow biopsy
- Hospital : UF Health Shands Hospital – 1,149 licensed beds, 1,500+ medical staff physicians
