American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a valid CA license, ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications for a mid-shift assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department of a non-trauma facilityAssignment is for 13 weeks with mid-shift hours (3x12 hour evening shifts from 15 : 00 to 3 : 30)Patient populations include general emergency, pediatric emergencies, ortho-trauma, neuro-trauma, and cardiac casesFacility is STEMI and Stroke CertifiedEvery other weekend is requiredHoliday coverage is requiredPre-start completion of specialty-specific modules is requiredReturn staff eligibility is reviewed on a case by case basisNo time off is allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment and a maximum of 3 days requested time off is permittedCandidates must be willing to work assigned holidaysLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateIsolation precautions and bloodborne pathogen safety are expected\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experienceCurrent ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications requiredProficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line and central line care, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, procedural and continuous IV sedation, administration of IV vasopressors, and managing CVA, ICP monitoring, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuryExperience with pediatric and adult emergencies, STEMI and stroke protocols, and use of CPAP / BiPAPAbility to interpret ABGs and provide appropriate triage\n Benefits\n
