American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and an active CA license for an acute care assignment working across inpatient and outpatient settings.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital and offsite outpatient therapy centerDiverse caseload includes inpatient adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary conditions, as well as outpatient patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatricsHand therapy comprises a significant portion of OT servicesDay shift position with 8-hour shiftsOTs may float between inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings as neededAverage hospital census of 150 with a total of 189 bedsUse of Cerner B EMR system; Cerner EMR experience preferredGeneral department orientation with a skills checklist and assigned clinicianResponsibilities include providing therapy to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on hand therapy in OTInterdisciplinary team includes therapy leaders, aides, PTs, STs, COTAs, and OTRsScrub dress code is burgundy polo or long sleeve shirt with black pants and shoesNo weekend or holiday work required for OTs on the 8-hour scheduleOTs are expected to float as needed to support patient care across departmentsFacility holds JCAHO certification for Stroke and has an early mobility programReturning candidates must not have worked at associated facilities (including CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity) within the past yearCandidates living within certain states must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates\n \n Requirements\n
Current, active Occupational Therapist license in CA required for consideration (license required if applicable)Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredReferences must include one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required for considerationAbility to work with a diverse patient population across different care settings\n Benefits\n
