Overview

Base pay range : $140,000.00 / yr - $160,000.00 / yr. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead technically complex projects that support stronger, more resilient communities. You will manage a single project contract from start to finish, overseeing budget, coordinating project personnel, and maintaining a production schedule to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. You will collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to align project goals with owner expectations while adhering to contract specifications and maintaining high standards.

Location : Phoenix, AZ. Employment type : Full-time. Industry : Construction. Seniority level : Mid-Senior level. This role involves significant interaction with owners, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive project success.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management for a single assigned project to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.
  • Develop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources to complete accurate and timely project production.
  • Assess initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness. Resolve specification, contract conflicts, and scheduling issues with the owner.
  • Oversee engineering and scheduling teams to identify and negotiate change orders, with support from the Area Manager as needed.
  • Create and present monthly cost and revenue forecasts and reports to leadership.
  • Maintain working relationships with supporting departments and the project owner to support the project work plan and payment schedule.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all third-party stakeholders, including landowners, local business owners, and government agencies that need to be engaged during the project.
  • Review and approve all internal and external media news releases regarding the project.
  • Ensure safety reviews and procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and safety meetings and monthly review meetings; support safety programs for the project and owner programs.
  • Review and approve staffing and equipment needs for efficient project production.
  • Participate in the dispute resolution process with support from internal legal counsel.
  • Provide input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient project production.
  • Lead project closeout procedures, finalize contract paperwork, obtain retainages, and collaborate with management to resolve project claims; lead the project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management and 5+ years of experience in managing personnel.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (highly regarded).
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and retain positive working relationships while effectively delegating task-driven responsibilities to project personnel.
  • Strong ability to identify, track, and manage project risk.
  • Experience managing multiple departments and direct reports to stay focused on one project completion goal and timeline.
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and coach / mentor project personnel.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel; knowledge of Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; communicate effectively with stakeholders and executives.
  • Ability to handle mathematical concepts and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions and variables, and work with abstract and concrete concepts.
