We are currently seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with attorneys and clients in a fast-paced environment, while managing complex trust and estate matters. The successful candidate will have a strong background in document review and legal assistance, as well as a proven track record of providing exceptional client service. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive support to attorneys in all aspects of trust and estate administration, including probate, trust administration, and estate tax returns.
  • Review, analyze and organize legal documents related to trusts and estates, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate planning documents.
  • Conduct legal research on various trust and estate matters, including probate laws, tax laws, and trust laws.
  • Assist in the preparation of estate and gift tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, and probate court filings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, financial institutions, and other professionals to gather information and manage trust and estate matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Oversee the distribution of assets and resolution of estate matters in accordance with the terms of the will or trust.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Trust & Estates Paralegal or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of trust and estate laws, probate procedures, and tax laws.
  • Proven experience in document review and legal assistance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other professionals.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or related field, or equivalent paralegal certification.
  • Notary Public certification is a plus.
