The successful candidate will perform special duties as assigned and provide technical support to assigned engineering program areas. They may work in one of the following engineering disciplines : Location and Design, Materials, Residency Operations, Construction, Structure and Bridge, Maintenance, Environmental, Transportation Planning, and Traffic Engineering Operations.

How You Will Contribute

• Communicate with VDOT staff and external contacts, proactively resolving issues and projecting a positive VDOT image.
• Complete assignments as directed.
• Apply principles and practices of engineering technology to assigned program areas, interpreting policies and procedures.
• Participate in the summer scholar program.
• Prepare and maintain daily documentation of project activities, ensuring timely submission and completion.
