Stern & Eisenberg is currently seeking an experienced Loss Mitigation Foreclosure and Calendar Paralegal to join our New York Practice Office which is located in Cranford, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have prior Loss Mitigation experience, familiarity with New York civil practice and court procedure, and prior Foreclosure experience. If candidate does not have experience in these areas, other law firm experience will be considered. Candidate should possess excellent organizational and computer skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills and impeccable attention to detail. Candidate will coordinate and communicate with borrowers who are experiencing financial hardship, assisting in exploring loss mitigation workout options and with the mortgage loan servicers to facilitate the best possible resolution for both parties. Candidate must be willing to learn and willing to grow with the company.

Position Responsibilities :
Serve as a primary loss mitigation contact on behalf of the firm for delinquent mortgage loan borrowers and their counsel, and mortgage loan servicers.Initiate and maintain communication with borrowers and their counsel through inbound and outbound calls, electronic correspondence and email correspondence.Collect and organize loan history and related documentation for mediation preparation.Collaborate and communicate with the firm’s attorneys, mortgage loan servicers, New York Courts and borrowers.Calendaring mediation appearances and related status appearances in the firm case management system, following up with the Court to confirm specifics when necessary.Ensure all loss mitigation packages are complete, documented and forwarded promptly according to mortgage loan servicer guidelines.Obtaining Loss Mitigation status updates from the mortgage loan servicers for various cases in court-mandated Foreclosure Settlement Conferences.Provide the firm’s attorney’s with Loss Mitigation status updates for future conferences.Maintain files in our electronic case management system (CaseAware).Manage Loss Mitigation document deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.Utilize client servicer portals (such as Vendorscape, Black Knight / ICE, Equator, TEMPO, etc.) to complete document requests.Document all correspondence and actions accurately in the servicer portals and our case management system.Communicate all events and developments to clients using portals, email and client’s preferred methods of communication (fax, mail, overnight, as appropriate).Request pertinent documents and related items from borrowers and their counsel, mortgage loan servicers and the Courts, and follow-up on unfulfilled requests, if needed.Required Skills and Qualifications :
Experience in Loss Mitigation and workouts, preferably in the area of NY real estate or foreclosure.Strong follow-up system, which includes proper calendaring of documents submission schedules and future conferences, to ensure all deadlines are met.Ability to handle a large volume of work.Ability to multi-task.Organization of workload and prioritization of tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.Stern & Eisenberg, PC has a 40-year history of representing its clients with reliable and reputable legal representation in a variety of service areas, including the firm’s established practices in real estate and foreclosure law; as well as its emerging growth centers in estate planning, estate administration, business law and bankruptcy.
