Area Manager
ChampionX is seeking experienced Area Managers for our Chemical Technologies group in Midland, Texas. If you are a passionate sales leader with a proven track record of success in technical sales, we invite you to apply.
You will be primarily responsible for revenue and profit growth of ChampionX chemical programs and services in targeted accounts within the Oil and Gas industries. You will be required to take a consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic ChampionX accounts. You will provide coaching and leadership to a team and anticipate customer needs based on knowledge of operations.

What You Will Do :
Work closely with current and new customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territoryDevelop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customers, including plant or facility executivesLeverage external network to pursue business opportunities within assigned territoryGenerate and execute sales plans in assigned customer base and new customer accounts to meet defined territory profit increase goalsRegularly engage in Health Check (audit) of current accountsDemonstrate strong team leadership by actively participating in District / Regional / Corporate initiativesCollaborate in cross-functional projects within ChampionX, promoting the transfer of knowledge as well as the delivery of innovative processes and programsSupport / lead trial of new technologies and proactively show initiative by bringing ideas and new technologies to the DistrictInitiate and lead sales campaigns within DistrictDemonstrate versatility by calling on all levels of the customer organizationLead, coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives and managers on diverse topicsPhysical Demands :
Must have the ability to Lift / Push / Pull / Carry up to 55 pounds / 25 kg chest highRole is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testingMinimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree4 years of successful technical sales or field sales management experienceAbility to travel within a geographic territory on a regular basis25% travel across US for training and corporate initiativesMust have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordNo immigration sponsorship offered for this role (US Only)Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.)5-7 years of successful technical sales or field sales management experienceExperience in oil and gas industry preferredPrevious Refinery / Petrochemical experienceWater treatment or specialty chemical industry experienceWorking knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systemsHigh computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivationExcellent communication and organizational skillsAccount leadership experience that includes calling on multilevel plant or facilities management to accomplish company goalsStrong work ethic and ability to multitaskAbout ChampionX :
