Previous long-term care experience

Trach management skills

Foley care experience

Wound care knowledge, including dressing changes

IV starts and management experience

Tube feeding knowledge

Description :

This position is for a skilled nursing facility.

The facility offers both short-term and long-term services.

Patients may be recovering from illnesses, injuries, or accidents.

Common diagnoses include stroke, amputation, and neurological disorders.

There is no memory care provided.

Patient ratios are 1 RN to 18-20 patients during the day and 1 RN to 26 patients at night.

A nursing leadership team is available for support.

An administrative nurse will handle admissions.

Expected admissions are approximately 1-2 per day.

Rehabilitation services, including therapy and case management, are offered.

The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.

IV pumps and medication dispensing are managed with specific systems.

There may be a requirement to float within the continuum of care.

Floating will be based on facility needs, per the scope of practice.

If floating mid-shift, travel time between facilities will be compensated.

Scheduling includes 12-hour shifts, requiring every other weekend rotation.

There is no call obligation.

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays.

Extra shifts cannot be picked up, but a maximum of 48 hours per week can be contracted.

Scrub color will be specified.

Free parking is available for staff.
