HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Float PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in San Diego, California.Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Duration : 13 weeks

36 hours per week

Shift : 12 hours, days, nights, rotating

Employment Type : Travel

Unit Description – ICU Float Pool (PICU / CTICU / NICU)

Avg. Daily Census : ~250

Patient Age Group : Neonates through adolescents

Unit Coverage :

24-bed PICU – Gold-level Beacon Award; ~1,700 annual admits

30-bed Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) – congenital / acquired heart disease, ECMO, heart transplant

60-bed Level IV NICU – referral center for critically ill or premature neonates

Skills / Experience Required :

Minimum 2 years PICU or strong CVICU experience with float capability across critical care units

Proficient in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, tracheostomy care, EVD, dysrhythmia interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, IV therapy, and pediatric sedation protocols

Certifications Required : BLS, PALS

Systems : EPIC (documentation), Pyxis (medication), SBAR communication

Shifts : 12-hour (07 : 00–19 : 00 / 19 : 00–07 : 00)

Schedule : Float required; call as needed; every other weekend (4–6 weekend shifts per 4-week block)

Orientation : 40 hours

Scrubs : Any color

Time Off : Up to 6 RFTO days allowed if full FTE met

Notes :

Preferred experienced travelers or prior float nurses. Exposure includes PICU, CVICU, and NICU environments with high-acuity pediatric patients, including ECMO and transplant cases.
