Job Summary
Munson Healthcare is seeking a skilled PACS / RIS Administrator to support the daily operations of our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS). This role bridges clinical healthcare and information technology, requiring strong communication with both highly technical network personnel and radiology professionals. The PACS / RIS Administrator often functions as a system architect, workflow engineer, and business analyst, ensuring smooth and secure imaging operations across the health system.
Education & Experience
Required :
Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences, Information Technology, or a healthcare-related field with 5 years’ experience in Radiology / PACS environments
OR
8 years of progressively responsible Radiology experience, including 3 years in PACS / RIS
Experience with clinical information systems hardware / software
Ability to perform basic programming functions
Experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining clinical operating systems
Preferred :
Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences, IT, or healthcare-related field
Experience with Cerner PowerChart / RadNet integrated system
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily PACS / RIS operations, ensuring maximum system availability, efficiency, and compliance
Install, upgrade, and maintain PACS / RIS software and hardware
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, coordinating with vendors and IT teams as needed
Provide guidance, training, and oversight to PACS / RIS staff and radiology team members
Support workflow optimization and ensure downtime procedures are in place and maintained
Participate in system testing, upgrades, and implementation of new projects
Provide PACS / RIS support to other Munson Healthcare facilities
Maintain professional communication and collaboration with staff, physicians, vendors, and external partners
Participate in on-call coverage to direct Radiology staff in RadNet and PACS operations

Primarily office-based in a hospital / clinical setting with frequent communication demands
Requires sitting, standing, and use of fine motor skills; occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, requiring clear communication and problem-solving
On-call responsibilities and occasional travel between sites
