Summary : Efficiently and safely transport patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, and traction equipment between nursing units and ancillary departments. Properly use transport equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain and clean equipment to ensure operability. Support nursing philosophies to enhance patient care quality.

Experience : At least one year of experience in patient transportation services is preferred, especially within hospital settings. Demonstrated ability to handle pediatric, adolescent, adult, bariatric, and geriatric patients with care and professionalism.

Requirements : Must meet healthcare transporter standards and maintain certifications including CPR for Healthcare Providers and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training. Ability to manage flow meters on E-Cylinders and perform patient discharges / transfers, including post-mortem transport. Capable of maneuvering wheelchairs and stretchers safely, sometimes requiring moderate to heavy lifting and assuming awkward positions.

Skills : Exemplary customer service, strong problem-solving, organizational skills, flexibility, and interpersonal communication are essential. Must quickly assess situations and respond appropriately. Ability to move throughout assigned areas and medical facilities, standing or walking for extended periods. Visual, auditory, and speech acuity are necessary for effective communication.

Licenses and Certifications : BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
