Overview
Quality Engineer role at Inteva Products. Location : Bluffton, IN.
Responsibilities
- Review supplier submission packages – 19 point PPAP, ensuring requirement compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate activities for PPAP approval with Suppliers, Inteva cross-functional teams, and Customers.
- Coordinate Quality and Capability Assessments with Suppliers when required, including reporting, follow-up, and closure of audit findings and non-conformances.
- Lead cross-functional supplier meetings / reviews to ensure Inteva and customer requirements are met.
- Guide suppliers to develop quality strategies to improve Quality System Implementation, utilizing Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving techniques.
- Coordinate Supplier Process Audits, Run at Rate verification, Control Plan Audits, PFMEA reviews, and Special Processes evaluations when required.
- Support and coordinate Engineering Changes related to suppliers with the Bluffton plant.
- Define / Determine customer quality requirements with suppliers.
- Participate with the PDT / Launch team on APQP activities for suppliers.
- Interface with team members, customers, and suppliers on a regular basis.
- Provide technical problem-solving and root cause analysis, and develop / issue corrective actions for defects.
- Coordinate product dimension verification / analysis and provide dimensional information when required from the supplier.
- Manage incoming inspection of supplier parts as required.
- Coordinate Quality sorting, supplier RMA, and Supplier 8D / corrective actions as necessary.
Position Requirements
Required
Prior proven Quality Engineer experience, 3+ years in Automotive preferred.High level of analytical ability with emphasis on problem solving and root cause analysis.Highly motivated to attain work objectives, self-starter.Excellent organization and planning skills.High level of interpersonal skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes.Knowledge of basic Quality tools : PPAP, Control Plans, PFMEA's, PFD's, Gage R&R's, Run @ Rate, Operator instructions, and IMDS.Knowledge of GM Quality Requirements.Ability to learn and navigate through Plex and Covisint.Must be able to travel when required.Preferred
5+ years industrial / manufacturing experience.Knowledge of statistical process control procedures.Knowledge of AIAG, IATF, APQP.Formal problem solving experience : Shainin, Six Sigma, etc.Knowledge of vehicle interior parts, assemblies, and related part constructions and / or designs.About the Organization
