Criminal Justice Training Coordinator I
This is an internal posting open only for North Carolina State Government and UNC System current employees and eligible RIF candidates. The Assistant Director of Training is a Non-Sworn / Administrative position within the North Carolina Center for Safer Schools (CFSS). The Center is designed to address the problem of school and youth-related violence and serve as a customer-focused information center for research, training, and technical assistance related to school safety, crisis prevention and response. The Assistant Director of Training is responsible for leading and coordinating school safety training, guidance, and collaboration efforts across North Carolina. This position ensures the development and delivery of high-quality safety programs, provides expert consultation to schools and districts, and supports CFSS staff through training, supervision, and professional development. The role also oversees research, data collection, and funding initiatives that strengthen statewide school safety practices. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with benefits.

The minimum education and experience required to qualify for this position includes :
Master's degree in criminology, criminal justice, one of the social sciences, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressively responsible experience in the field in which assigned; OR Bachelor's degree in criminology, criminal justice, one of the social sciences, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of progressively responsible experience in the field in which instruction is to be conducted; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
