Overview
Building Engineer at ISS Facility Services - North America. Reports to the Site Operations Manager. Responsible for maintaining facility equipment to high standards and promoting the OneISS approach across service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of the building's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, control, and HVAC systems
- Handle refrigerant management for HVAC repairs
- Perform minor electrical tasks (bulb / ballast replacement) and basic plumbing maintenance
- Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance and oversee safety of operations
- Monitor building system operations, perform self-contained trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, refrigeration, heating and cooling) as needed
- Serve as a point of contact for the client and respond to escalations professionally
- Collaborate with the Technical Services Team and Site Operations Manager; contribute to cross-functional success across hard, soft, and operational service lines
- Maintain and update the CMMS data for assets and maintenance programs
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for safe and effective maintenance and scopes of work
- Provide or direct equipment and system modifications, including lockout / tagout and safe working area setup
- Follow 5S principles for organization of client-facing and back-of-house areas
- Order supplies for PMs / RMs and manage on-site tool inventory to meet service level agreements
- Assist in obtaining and comparing estimates for external work
- On-call support as part of designated on-call schedule
- Ensure customer complaints are handled professionally and promptly
- Comply with ISS and client EHS requirements
- Possess a valid state driver's license; may require travel within a metropolitan region
Ideal Candidate Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Operations & Maintenance, Construction, Facilities Maintenance and / or Building EngineeringHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade school / college preferredEPA Universal / 608 CertificationStrong knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and CMMS systemsExperience with subcontractor and vendor contract managementExperience with KPI management as directed by Site Operations ManagerAbility to use specialty hand / tools and diagnose equipment at Journeyman level (Electrical / Mechanical)Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, CMMS, smartphone apps)Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication skillsPhysical Demands & Work Environment

Hourly wage : $43.00 per hour. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, life and disability insurance, and a comprehensive leave program (based on employment status).
