We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to oversee the financial operations of our aviation manufacturing business. This role is responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and supporting the CFO in driving financial strategy and business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing accounting experience, a solid understanding of cost accounting, and a working knowledge of Epicor ERP.

Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee the financial operations of our aviation manufacturing business. The Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role supervises a small finance team of two and leverages Epicor ERP to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads and CFO.
Support cost accounting and inventory valuation processes, including standard costing and variance analysis.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
Continuously improve finance processes and reporting using Epicor ERP.
Mentor and supervise a team of 2 accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development.
Support the CFO with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace or aviation industry experience is a plus.
Proficient with Epicor ERP and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
